Jakarta, May 22, 2025 — SMA Labschool Kebayoran celebrated the graduation of its 22nd cohort in a formal and heartfelt ceremony held at the Birawa Assembly Hall, Hotel Bidakara Jakarta. The venue was transformed into a stage of joy, reflection, and celebration as SMA Labschool Kebayoran honoring the Class of VADASTARA-Visatya Veritas Adastra.
Families, educators, alumni, and dignitaries gathered to witness this momentous event that celebrated the academic and personal growth of 301 graduates—201 from the Science program and 100 from the Social Studies program. The theme, “VADASTARA: Taburlah Gagasan, Petiklah Perubahan dan Raih Harapan di Masa Depan,” was more than a motto, it was a call to action, urging graduates to sow ideas, embrace transformation, and reach for a hopeful future.
The ceremony began with a grand procession of students, welcomed with applause as they entered the hall accompanied by their homeroom teachers, all under the warm and elegant guidance of the Masters of Ceremony, Ms. Febri and Ms. Maya. The atmosphere was filled with emotion as proud parents looked on, many capturing the moment through smiles and tears.
Attendees stood in unity to sing “Indonesia Raya” and “Mars Labschool,” followed by opening remarks from the school’s principal, Dr. Suparno, S.Pd., M.M., who praised the resilience and achievements of this graduating class and emphasized the importance of integrity, innovation, and collaboration in their future endeavors. One of the most moving segments during the principal’s speech was the floral tribute to former principals of SMA Labschool Kebayoran Dr. Anggoro Budi Susila and Risang Danardana, M.M. in honor of their leadership legacies.
One of the most memorable moments of the VADASTARA graduation ceremony was the inspiring speech by Prof. Dr. H. Arief Rachman, M.Pd., Advisor to Labschool. He congratulated the graduates and praised SMA Labschool Kebayoran for nurturing students of both intellect and character. As a tribute to educators, Prof. Arief invited the school principals, honored guests, and all teachers to the stage. He then invited Sky Orchestra, a talented student ensemble that served as the official musical accompaniment throughout the ceremony, to perform the national tribute song “Terpujilah,” a moving piece dedicated to teachers. The performance touched the hearts of many and served as a powerful reminder of the invaluable role educators play in shaping lives.
After that Dr. Ali Mukodas, M.Pd., representing the Jakarta Provincial Education Office as the Head of the Senior High School Division, was invited to deliver his remarks. He gave an uplifting address to the graduates of SMA Labschool Kebayoran.
Then, came the presentation of academic and non-academic awards, with one name shining particularly bright: Alanna Shira Nafeeza from XII MIPA 3, honored as Best Researcher for her scientific study titled ” Analysis of Vitamin C Levels in Various Types of Berries”. It was proud to announce that Alanna has been admitted to join the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Indonesia.
Following that, a traditional Mappadendang dance from South Sulawesi was gracefully performed by students from Grade XI, adding a vibrant cultural touch to the celebration. The stage came alive with colorful costumes and rhythmic movements, celebrating Indonesia’s rich heritage and the students’ appreciation for tradition.The emotional atmosphere continued with a soulful musical presentation by the Parents’ Vocal Group, arranged and directed by Kak Pujo of Orange Vocal Studio. Composed of dedicated and enthusiastic parents, the group delivered a heartfelt performance that resonated deeply with the audience. Their harmonies, guided by Kak Pujo’s thoughtful musical direction, reflected the profound love, pride, and unwavering support that parents have shown throughout their children’s journey at SMA Labschool Kebayoran.
The audience was also treated to a dynamic performance by Soulpress, VADASTARA’s very own student band. Composed of seven members—Hanna, Ayra, Sheva, Kale, Anant, Evan, and Majiid—Soulpress has earned accolades from regional to national levels, and their music energized the hall with passion and pride.The moment of transition from student to alumni was marked by the Alumni Pinning Ceremony, where three VADASTARA leaders Rafi Novettriady, Pradigta Nabel, and Akhmad Aufarafi Arraya received pins from alumni leaders Kak Adwittya Narendra Wityasmoro and Ibu Dian Indriani, S.E.Following the performances, two outstanding graduates—Muhammad Kynan Aulia and Najwa Asyila Malano—took the stage to share their reflections as representatives of the Class of VADASTARA. Kynan, who has been admitted to the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and Najwa, who has been accepted to the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Padjadjaran, delivered heartfelt speeches that resonated deeply with the audience. In their closing message, they offered an inspiring call to action to their fellow graduates. They said, “as alumni, we should not only be intelligent but also wise—not only successful, but also impactful.
”Before the ceremony drew to a close, the MC invited a special representative from the parent community to share reflections on this momentous day. Prof. dr. Ponco Birowo, Sp.U (K), Ph.D. stepped forward to deliver a deeply heartfelt speech. He is the father of Muhammad Prashantyo Birowo who has been accepted into the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Indonesia.
In his remarks, Professor Ponco expressed immense pride in the achievements of the VADASTARA graduates, not only as a parent but also as a member of a wider community that had witnessed the students grow, learn, and persevere over the years. He offered sincere gratitude to the teachers, school leaders, and staff of SMA Labschool Kebayoran for their dedication, care, and commitment to shaping the next generation of leaders.
The last moment, Grace, Hana, Clayra, Kale, and Sheva took to the stage to deliver a deeply moving musical-poetry performance that captivated the entire audience. As their voices intertwined with poetic verses and melodies, the auditorium fell into a hush an atmosphere of quiet reflection and heartfelt emotion. While the performance unfolded, a curated slideshow of childhood photos of the graduates appeared on the screen. The combination of nostalgic visuals and poignant performance stirred deep feelings in the hearts of parents, teachers, and even fellow students.
The event closed with a group photo session of all teachers and homeroom teachers, capturing the final moments of a unforgettable graduation.“Today, you leave as graduates, but you return as alumni—forever part of the Labschool family,” said MCs Ms. Mae and Ms. Febri in closing. “Wherever your path leads, remember the values, dreams, and friendships nurtured here.”
